MK Diamond 100 Wet Tile Saw Kit Review

The MK Diamond MK-100KIT has a 1-1/2 HP , 115V, fan-cooled motor that has a blade RPM of 3,450. It has permanently lubricated, dual-sealed, heavy-duty blade shaft bearings and its multi-position motor post and cutting head allow a person to configure this saw for cutting large and small tiles. 

Plunge cuts can be completed easily due to the variable height cutting head and the saw can accept 6″ and 8″ profile wheels. This saw uses a micro V-belt drive from motor to blade which is said to improve the efficiency of power transfer.

A built in blade lock makes changing blades much easier and the chrome plated guide bar will give the user accurate cuts over and over.

The steel frame of this saw is zinc plated to hold up against the use this saw will see. It has a cutting depth of 3 1/4 inches and will rip 18″ tile and diagonally a 12 inch tile. The MK 100 is versatile because of it’s two position cutting head allowing for different size tiles and it also comes with an integrated miter.

Like many of the other saws in this class, the best wet saw has a built-in water distribution system suppling water to both sides of blade.

One of it’s downfall for this unit is it’s weight. It weighs in at 96 pounds, by itself, and the shipping weight is 150 pounds. There are other 10 inch saws on the market that are much lighter (Dewalt 24000s @69lbs).

The stand does not have wheels either, making this tile saw more of a challenge to move around the worksite. However it has the power to get the job done and MK Diamond has built this to last.
